Please join the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care for a webinar on booster shots for residents of long-term care facilities.
The CDC recommends booster shots for everyone 12 and older to help keep up the protection provided by COVID-19 vaccines. Boosters are especially important for people who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities because of their increased risk of both infection and serious illness or death due to COVID-19. However, although the majority of nursing home residents completed initial vaccinations, far fewer have received boosters, leaving residents at increased risk.
The webinar will explore the important role families play in residents’ decisions to get boosters and how families can help their loved ones get fully protected. It also will discuss strategies for ACL’s networks to effectively engage families on the importance of boosters. Speakers from CMS and the White House COVID-19 Response Team also will share the latest information on boosters.
