On June 21-24, 2022, the Utah State University Extension’s Tribal and Rural Opioid Initiative (TROI) will host theĀ 5th Annual Intertribal Opioid Wellness Summit in Vernal, Utah! The community-focused Summit will begin at 5pm MDT (7pm EDT) on June 21st with a community prevention activity.

Speakers for the 2022 Intertribal Opioid Wellness Summit include Indigenous experts on healing, recovery, and harm reduction. The summit features opportunities to connect and learn about ways to reduce opioid-related stigma.
The first 200 registrants will receive a Summit Welcome Bag.

- Presentations from Larry Cesspooch, Ute Filmmaker/Storyteller/Spiritual Leader, “Poowavie Moppaht – The Medicine Wheel & Wavookie – Smudging”; and Katie Zaman, Sociologist and Illustrator, “Telling Stories to Reduce Stigma: Comics and Harm Reduction”
