Meals on Wheels has been guided by a single goal since the first known U.S. delivery by a small group of Philadelphia citizens in 1954 – to support older adults to extend their independence and health as they age. What started as a compassionate idea has grown into one of the largest and most effective social movements in America, currently helping 2.8 million older adults annually in virtually every community in the country. Meals on Wheels programs around the country leverage person-centered principles to ensure that older adult meal program participants receive services that support their ability to live with independence and dignity in their communities of choice.
In this webinar co-sponsored by the National Center on Advancing Person-Centered Practices (NCAPPS) and Meals on Wheels America, panelists from the Meals on Wheels national network will discuss ways they design and adapt their services with older adults and share promising practices to meet the evolving and varied needs.
NCAPPS webinars include ASL interpretation, live English captions, and live Spanish interpretation. If you require any additional accommodations, please contact Saska Rajcevic (srajcevic@hsri.org).
