The National Academies Committee on Research Priorities for Preventing and Treating Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias will host a public workshop to
- explore promising areas of research that may have the potential to catalyze scientific breakthroughs in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD),
- identify barriers to the advancement of research, and
- investigate successes and failures experienced in other biomedical research fields to understand how lessons learned could be translated to the dementia research context.
The provisional committee was formed to support a consensus study focused on examining the current state of biomedical research aimed at preventing and treating AD/ADRD and identifying research priorities and opportunities to catalyze advances across the field.
