In this workshop, we will review developments in the clinical and neuro psychological effects of dementia applicable to your work for adult protective services (APS). This training will review the more common challenges facing your older adult clients suffering from dementia, their family members, and ourselves. Topics will include: the challenges of and risks to the normal aging process; the specific challenges of dementia; differentiating the most common types of dementia; reversible conditions that are often misconstrued as dementia, and several common screens for dementia and mental capacity.
